The Resort ...
La Torre Golf Resort is a holiday and leisure complex on a grand scale. Covering an area measuring over 1,400,000 square metres.
Located only a few kilometres from the best beaches of the Mar Menor, La Torre Golf Resort bustles with life and activity. The variety of leisure activities, including bars and restaurants of all styles, the exciting Nicklaus Design golf course and all the other services created with residents in mind, make this a truly Spanish Mediterranean town where life is lived outdoors.
If you're into golf then this is the place for you! La Torre is an 18 hole, par 68 course with four sets of tees and 3 lakes. This course has wide fairways and large bunkers. At 5,400 metres it's a course where accuracy and strategy are fundamental.
Restaurants and bars: the resort boasts an impressive selection of cuisine with something to suit all tastes and occasions. From a traditional paella cooked over a wood fire to Argentinean grilled meats, Italian cuisine, impressive buffets, a simple hamburger and the very latest in Asian cuisine. In addition, a wide range of welcoming bars that have been designed as great places for friends to meet up.
Murcia (20km) is well worth a visit. Murcia is famous for its baroque cathedral, narrow streets and distinctive Spanish boutiques. The city also offers nightlife, shopping and a multitude of restaurants.
Cartagena (20km) is an ancient port which boasts a wealth of history and beautiful architecture. Nearby you can visit the Roman amphitheatre which was only rediscovered in the 1980's and has now been restored and opened to the public
Mar Menor Beaches(20 mins drive) The Mar Menor area has wonderful clear warm waters and a host of beaches to choose from and is Europe’s largest salt-water lagoon separated from the Mediterranean by the 24 kilometre long La Manga del Mar Menor. The average depth of the Mar Menor is four metres and its maximum seven which, combined with its great extension, means that the seabed slopes very gradually, and you have to get several hundred metres in before the water is of any depth
The Mar Menor's salinity, furthermore, provides buoyancy so, all in, all it is one of the safest places to swim in the world. The mineral-rich waters of the Mar Menor are supposed to have therapeutic effects. The sludge in the salt pans of Lo Pagán to the north of the Mar Menor is also credited with beneficial effects on the health, so there are often dozens of people wallowing in it at any one time (plus, it cools you down in the August heat).
